AUCKLAND day trip

June 19th

Kara, Tai, Emma and I decided to take a day trip up to Auckland! We wanted to do some touristy things, so we planned a good days worth of things for us to do.

I had to make sure I mention this story in this post hehe. So on our way up to Auckland, it was a bit rainy and crazy. We made it up fine and safe, but when we got out of the car I got a message from my dad that a tornado had passed through Auckland. So, we looked it up and apparently we drove right through it and we didn't even know! Some areas were roughed up a bit and there were a handful of people who were killed or injured so I was just so grateful that Heavenly Father protected us on our way up to Auckland that morning.

We started our day off by going to the War Memorial Museum. That was such a neat place that we could have all spent the entire day at.

We were also big fans of that Sky Tower.

This was our lunch! It was a food truck like kind of place called the White Lady. It had burgers, hot dogs, and shakes. We luckily came across it and it was so dang good.

Near where we parked was this cute area with a ton of pretty string lights. Auckland had a lot of cool decorative things like that as you walked around. From these lights, to different mural paintings of sorts, it was super neat.

Next stop: the Toi museum! This was more so an art museum and was meant to be filled with a good amount of Māori art, so we were excited for this one.
It was nice to walk around and look at different forms of art hehe.

A lot of admiring going on.

It's cool how one painting can have such a deep meaning.

More admiring hehe.

Emma and I also took the opportunity to try and replicate some of the art hehe. So here's a bit of what we would like to call, 'becoming the art' lol.

Just gorgeous.

Some extras:

Emma and I's accidental matching.

One of my fave photos of this lot haha, just so fun.

Another angle of the Sky Tower.

Last stop of our day trip hehe. Moustache cookies! This was a neat place to pick up some fresh baked cookies, so that was the best way to end our day exploring Auckland.

Choc. chip cookie pie.

Ka kite Auckland.
