Christmas 2020
Texas with the gang. |
My most favorite time of the year! and I was so excited that I was getting to spend it with my family. I love putting the tree up, I love the Christmas music, and most importantly I love celebrating the time of Christ's birth.
This year was exciting because my parents decided that we'd be going to California during Christmas. We had this nice hotel booked that was right on the beach, a boat dinner, it was gonna be so lovely! Until, all of those plans changed haha. CA went into lockdown and those plans were toast. So dad quickly came up with new plans and we were off to TEXAS.
First stop was San Antonio!
We visited the Alamo, walked, and took a boat ride along the River walk. It was a great start to our Christmas vacay.
We had to stop at the first Rudys ever while we were in the area! So we took advantage of good BBQ while in Texas.
More San Antonio things:
Then we were off to Austin!
This was my first time to Austin, TX and it was all things lovely. The thing about this city is that they have heaps of mural art. So, we were hitting up as much of those as we could which was fun hehe.
We stopped at Snooze for breakfast and that was fantastic.
A thicc bfast burrito hehe. |
Some of us went exploring around Austin. Our hotel was pretty close to everything so that was nice. We went walking around near the river and towards the bridge and it was so lovely out. There were fall trees all over and it was gorgeous. We came across some bird scooters and electric bikes, and had such a cool time seeing as much of Austin as we could.
Then we popped into voodoo donuts for a treat hehe. Those were heavenly.
Day 2 in Austin Texas! Christmas day hehe.
We woke up early in our matching pjs and went downstairs to have breakfast at Starbucks. That became one of my absolute favorite memories. Being together in the lobby and eating our pastries for Christmas bfast. It was great.
Then of course, we went looking out for more mural art hehe.
These were the views of Austin from our hotel. It was stunning out. Quiet, and perfect.
Then there was Christmas dinner at Fogo De Chão. We love a good Brazilian dinner night. It's a family favorite so it was a nice way to spend Christmas together.
This was a bit of what happened after dinner hehe. We rode more bird scooters around the hotel. Dad fell in love haha, he had never done it before and became obsessed. Again, I love riding bird scooters and so it was the best time doing it all together. The town was so pretty at night so we were all soaking that in. Some of us went up to the rooftop where they had a pool and we hung out there for a bit.
Trying to recreate the Beetles signature hehe. |

The best part of the day was getting to chat with this sister of ours. Not the best screenshot I could have taken, but we chatted with her quite a bit through out the day and we missed her something terrible.
We woke up the next day, and we were off on our next adventure! Waco, TX here we come hehe.
As soon as we got to Waco we went to Magnolia. The best way to sum up the place, it's a grown ups Disneyland haha. It is seriously one of the cutest places and it is worth the hype.
They had a bakery that we of course had to stop at haha. It had so many good options and we made sure to get a bit of everything.
More from Magnolia and Waco:
Okay so this was hands down my most favorite thing! Dad came across this place called Union Hall. It was a food court kind of place. It had a huge variety and had super unique kinds of food shops and we all tried one place each. Between the group we had gotten pizza, Mexican food, Chinese, and ice cream hehe. It was the best. One of the coolest food spots we had eaten at. A band ended up showing up and sung a bunch of country music. It was one of the coolest nights from the trip.
What a stunnah. |
Love me a good fried rice dish. |
Okay, sorry another favorite from the trip hehe. We ended up going around to look at the lights around Waco. It was stunning. They had so many lights set up at the place and it was lit up so beautifully.
