Mahuru!
I had a huge desire out of no where to go to a nice Raglan lookout to watch the sun rise. I messaged the gals and we had it set to go that Saturday! We drove out, bright and early, and it was freaking beautiful. One end, the sun was rising bright, while on the other end it was the nice and pretty waves. Felt so grateful to be living in this gorgeous world.
After the sunrise, we stopped at Bridal Veil Falls on our way back to Hams. Kara hadn't been so it was nice to stop by real quick, besides the fact that the water was freaking brown LOL. It was windy and a bit rainy but we had a good time adding that to our adventures of the day.
Last stop from our full on morning was breakfast hehe. We got McDonalds and then ate it at the lake, which was a really lovely way to end our fun morning together.

Strantz and I went to a movie during level 2! He and I went to watch the new Aretha Franklin movie with Jennifer Hudson and it was fun to listen to all her jams hehe. We were pretty lucky to have the entire theatre to ourselves to hehe!
Then, it was my day of birth hehe! I was super spoiled through out the day!
Here are a couple pics from that day. Aunty Haina and I share a birthday so it's been nice celebrating together for the second year in a row. We went out to this cute Thai place and Uncle TK met up with us too which was lovely. That morning I had been awaken to bfast in bed (TeHira tradition that I'm lucky to be apart of haha). Then, I went out by myself to get my nails done. Kara then took me to a movie (Shang Chi- SO good!) and she got me this jumbo cookie which I loved. Then, I ended the day with my Hawea family for dinner and my cake (pictured below), which is one of my faves!!! So I was so grateful to Aunty Lee for going out of her way to make that for me. Thank goodness for technology now a days cos I got calls through out the day too which was perfect.
Taupo girls trip!! Okay so I planned this when it was Karas bday but we were in lockdown, so we ended up rescheduling for the weekend of my bday as a conjoined bday celebrations for all three of our bdays for the year hehe. It was such a flipping good weekend away and here's how it started.
Us relaxed after our massages hehe. |
Okay so as soon as we got to Taupo, we went to this Thai massage place where we had hour massages booked. It was the perfect start to our girls weekend. We checked into our hotel and we were buzzing out about the entire place. Very spoiled by my parents, so that was a really big plus to the weekend.
We went out to get dinner and some snacks for the night hehe. We came across this diner called Paulys, and they had burgers and chicken meals. We're big fans of that place! So good hehe.
Here's a bit of how our night ended hahah. Pure chaos as you can probably tell lol. We went for a midnight swim in the hotels heated pool and then ended the night listening to music, eating all our fave junk foods, face masks, and our oodies!! It was the perfect end to the night. Love these gals and the fun that they are.
Here's the next day! We did so much in only a day. We had bfast at the hotel, then stopped at the lake to kinda just walk around and rode some lime scooters.
Our "crew" pic lol. |
Lake Taupo. |
Taupo has so much graffiti art around town, so we went around to try and find as many of them as we could. I enjoy things like that, so we had a good time doing that and looking at the different art pieces they had.
We booked a boat ride around the lake! That was probably one of the favorite things we did on this trip. It was nice and calming to just boat around for an hour and a bit. Very neat experience.
Māori Carvings. |
Okay and I've gotta share this haha. Kara, Tai, and I had a Fast & Furious marathon earlier this year, so that is very much a thing between us three haha. We love Dom Toretto, fast cars, you know the go HA. So this year for my bday, I was flipping spoiled by these two and got the most thoughtful and coolest bday gifts I've ever received hehe.
My new favorite tee haha. |
YSA Sunrise in Whaingaroa! Okay so this is an activity that my friend and I planned and didn't think many were gonna come to just cos it was so early, but low and behold we had a little over a dozen show up hehe. It was such a fun time! We again, woke up super early and went out to Raglan to watch the sunrise and it was a lovely view.

Fave view!! |
The gals. |
We ended up going down to one of the beach spots where there was a park and a grassy area to just kind of hang out at. We put out a blanket and sat and chatted to one another, then played some cards. Some people went swimming, and we just blasted some good jams and had a good time hanging out with one another.
