June/July things '22

JUNE 

Loving up on our bubbies, who we love with all our hearts hehe. 

Nanny's 70th bday! She had this entire party set up for us to celebrate her and her life. Everyone had worked so hard to make something special for her and you could tell she really enjoyed herself which made me happy. It was so lovely seeing everyone and being together. Love good reasons to get together and party.

I got super sick and Aunty Amelia was an angel and brought me some soup, a dinner roll, and some juice. I literally felt like crying it was the nicest thing someone could have ever done and I was so grateful hehe. 

My shawty is in the same country as me and I'm pretty pumped about it! Sheldyn's here for a few months for an internship in Nelson and it means hangs for us too hehehe. We have a few trips booked in for her to come my way while she's here and that makes me really happy. She was in Hamilton for a few hours and I was so grateful that I got to see her for a bit while she was here hehe. 

Sheldyn's in H town for the weekend! Woohoo hehe. Already starting her visit off the right way and seeing as much family as we possibly can.

We of course had to stop in for a real fruit at Ruakura berry farms which is a family favorite hehe.

We made our way to Auckland for a YSA dance and it was freaking lit haha. They had such a good DJ, and I had some of my favorites who got to come along with me to it which was the best part. 

Got to go to Kadens rugby game, and we got to hang up with some of our cousins and it was the most crack up time haha. This lot of them are freaking nuts haha, and it's always so much fun spending time  with them.

Malachi, Kenz, and I went out to this yummy Korean place together. I am now obsessed hehe, was so good and we had gotten the yummiest spread. Mal and I decided on a whim to buy tickets and go to the Māori All Blacks and it was so dang fun! Was such a fun and spontaneous night out hehe.

JULY

Sheldyn is here and I'm so happy!! She came down again for the weekend, so my friends and I drove up to Auckland to pick her up and decided we'd make a night out of it hehe. We went into the city and drove some electric scooters and ate and had a fun time showing her around this city.

We took some pics with this dashing guy, who was off to Melvilles HS ball. It's funny because Ihaia is in a family with mostly girls. Girls as sisters and lots of girl cousins haha and we loved being there as he got pictures taken and then homeboy was off and on his way hehe.

Tutepourangi got blessed today. Sheldyn flew up for it which was pretty lit hehe. We got to see our nephew get the sweetest blessing from his dad and it was so special getting to be there for it!

Alyssa came to New Zealand hehe. It was a wee trip where she could celebrate her graduating from college and we had a whole list of things we wanted to do while she was in town.

We stopped at Waitomo caves to see the glow worms, and we of course had to stop at big az ice cream for a real fruit ice cream and it was heavenly per usual. 

She's big into the Hobbit franchise and the movies and everything in between hehe, so we of course had to stop in to Hobbiton. I had never been before or seen all the movies but it was still such a nice visit. I'm a big fan of places that are based off of movies. It was pretty magical lol.

We went to Taupo!

Stopped in Rotorua before and visited Lady Janes.

Kara and I went out to dinner and went out to Arang, Korean hehe. One of my new favorite spots!

Arihia got to participate in FSY for one of the days and I got to go up as one of her plus ones haha. It was lit. I was just one of her groupies really lol and we ran into this guy who was a counselor. Was so nice getting to see him really quickly hehe. 

Hello Nelson! We made our way over for the weekend for a family wānanga and it was splendid. It's always the best time when we can get out of Hamilton for a little bit hahah, and even better when Nelson is the destination. Our toro and her team did a fabulous job at organizing a wānanga for our family where we could learn connections and songs, and a mix of things. We got to visit significant locations that had to do with our ancestors and it was special. We caught up with all our favorites and got to meet new people who we now love. It's always experiences like this that I'm so grateful to be apart of since moving to New Zealand. It was a plus being able to see my sister and spend time with her since she's been doing her internship here and seeing how much she's learnt.

Sheldyn came up to Hamilton for one of our YSA weekends that our stake was putting together and I was pretty excited about it. I was running one of the days and it was just something fun for her to come to participate in, and we had a great time. 

Friday- Western Dance. The committee for this day did so freaking good on decorations and the night turned out amazing. We had a floor show, partner dancing, and lots of fun.

No pics from Saturday, oop. Such a busy day but trust me, it was the best ha! I was so tired and running off of adrenaline that Shel and I just stopped in at Wendys for dinner and ate and caught up at the lake. It was one of my favorite parts of the entire weekend just chatting with her. 

Sunday- Devo. Shel and I snuck off to a cheeky real fruit ice cream, oop. Was so good. Then, on our way to the devo we saw the prettiest sunset. Ended the night at McDonalds with some of our closest mates.
